You have more options than you think
If your only quote was one renewal letter, you haven't seen your options yet.
Picture it. You run a shop with eight people on payroll. The renewal letter lands, the number is higher than last year, and there's a reply-by date at the bottom. It feels like you have two choices: sign it, or drop coverage and hope your good people stay.
That letter is one option. It isn't the only one. There are group plans, ICHRA, and other setups, and the right one depends on your team, your budget, and what you're trying to do for your people. Finding it is our job. Taking care of your people and protecting your budget aren't always a trade-off.
We understand how overwhelming insurance options can be and we're here to help.
Built for Florida teams of 1 to 100+ employees
This page is for Florida employers of any size, from 1 to 100+ employees. Florida's small-group market is generally 1 to 50 employees (HealthCare.gov), and I also help businesses with 51 to 100+ employees compare their options.
Small-group coverage can start any month of the year, so you don't have to wait for an enrollment season.
Just covering yourself or your family, with no employees on the plan? Individual and family plans are the better place to start, and PPOs are available there too.
Group health plan options
Most people picture one kind of group plan: the traditional setup (often called fully insured). You pick a plan from an insurance company, decide how much of the premium the business covers, and the insurance company handles the claims.
That's a solid choice for a lot of teams, and it's not the whole menu. I also look at other plan structures when they fit your team. For business owners with an EIN, even a group of one, that includes private association plans, which pool low-risk individuals together and can lower costs. Which ones make sense depends on your headcount, your budget, and what your people actually use. I can add dental and vision to the picture, too.
You won't get a pitch for one product here. You'll get a side-by-side.
ICHRA (CHOICE Arrangement), in brief
ICHRA stands for individual coverage health reimbursement arrangement. In plain English: you set a tax-free monthly allowance, and your employees use it toward individual health plans they pick themselves. HealthCare.gov now calls it a CHOICE Arrangement.
One rule to know: you can't offer the same class of employees a choice between your group plan and an ICHRA, but you can split classes, for example a group plan for full-time staff and an ICHRA for part-time staff. Employees get written notice 90 days before the plan year starts. More from HealthCare.gov on CHOICE Arrangements.
What it costs to work with us
Standard group and ICHRA placement is carrier-paid, so my help is free to you. If anything ever carries a fee, you'll hear about it up front, before you agree to anything.

Small business health insurance FAQ
What counts as a small business for group health insurance in Florida?
Generally, employers with 1 to 50 employees. Counting rules can vary by plan, so Darius confirms your headcount on a call. Have more than 50? Darius helps larger teams too. (HealthCare.gov)
What is an ICHRA or CHOICE Arrangement?
It lets an employer give tax-free reimbursements toward employees' individual health insurance, instead of or alongside a group plan for different employee classes. HealthCare.gov now calls it a CHOICE Arrangement.
Group plan or ICHRA: which fits my business?
It depends on your team. A group plan can be simpler for some businesses. ICHRA gives you a set budget and lets employees pick their own plans. Darius compares both against your headcount and budget.
Does a benefits broker cost my company anything?
For standard group and ICHRA placement, carriers pay the broker, so the help is free to you. Any fee is disclosed up front.
What if I'm the only one who needs coverage?
If you're covering only yourself or your family, you have options too: Marketplace and private plans, including PPOs. See individual and family plans, or schedule a call and Darius will compare them.
Let's look at your options
Letting the renewal ride has a cost. You could face unexpected medical bills and continue feeling overwhelmed by insurance decisions.
Most clients save money and feel secure with the right coverage in place. Savings depend on your situation. You go from signing whatever the renewal letter says to choosing what fits your team.
